Charley’s Angels
10 am was the official call time for the Lipa get away. It’s 2 am and we haven’t had our sleep yet. Mike and I were still talking of what happened during the launching of the new project last night and I was a veritable afternoon baby (a person who wakes up late in the afternoon). Tired, restless and still needing some energy, we were all having doubts in going to Lipa that is soooo far away from Manila.
But we still went through. And true enough God gives bounty to the industrious. Upon entering the massive walls of the fortified estate, we were greeted by luscious trees and the leaves as if bowing on us. then no less than Charley Leviste, the daughter of Tony Leviste toured us around her magnanimous and relaxing house. Everything was all so picture perfect.
The living room has this grand piano and the huge christmas tree set on a platform over-looking the fields where horses were free to gallop. Charley poured us good wine and served us cashew nuts with rosemary herbs. Really delectable. After that, she let us see her bedrooms showcasing her talents in hotel management. every room is really unique and has a character of its own.

Then came lunch. And God it’s on a full course luncheon. We started with the basics… A simple salad. The organic vegetables came right out from her own backyard. The steamed fish was really sumptuous. all the flavors were locked in and although being a Filipino myself who loves condiment, it didn’t need to have a dip already because it will lose its power and all you can taste is be the dip. It is already simply fantastic. And what a way to end it by having their own version of Italian cookies and cream. It is the improved version of tiramisu. The full course meal that we had was specially done by her chef.

After that, she let us discover some of the Leviste history by showing us their museum-library and of course who will not forget their main house which has a lovely loft and a watch tower where you could see the estate and view the horizon. It is as if we were on cloud nine and suddenly became Charley’s Angels.
